CONSIDER ATION BY COUNTY COUNCIL. "SHOULD BE IN BOROUGH."Matters_ of interest to Westshore were considered at a meeting of the Hawke's Bay County Council to-day. The Westshore Citizens' League wrote asking concerning tbe erosion of Charles street by the sea and after Cr. C. C. Smith bad stated tbat the erosion was serious and was due to harbour works, it was decided to ask the Harbour Board' to carry out protective works. The question of lights at the ferry quay was also referred to and it was decided to erect four ligbts in tbe vicinity. It was decided to inform tbe league that tbe council had 110 power to alter tbe period of the water loan, which had been fixed by tbe Local Government Loans Board. A11 application from tbe league for tlie provision of a lorry to remove rubbisli was refused. It was said tbat tlie county coukl not bave rubbish carts all over its district and tbo opinion was expressed tbat Westshore should be in tbe borough of Napier. This opinion was expressed by the, cbairman, Mr F. B. Logan, and supported by Cr. Smith.
