THE CEREMONY OF KAVA DRINKING was recently observed to celebrate tho release from prison of Tama sese, the Samoan high chief. Our photograph shows the kava being prepared. Tamaseso (in white) is in the centre of the group, and Chief Tauvao is seen dipping a ceremonial cup, made of a cocoanut shell, into tho liquid.
