AUCKLAND, Last night. Adelaide Smallfiekl, aged 29, a marriecl woman, was charged at the Police Court on five counts of stealing goods from shops. She pleaded guiltv and was finecl £20. Thc thefts rangecl over a period of a fortnight, a number of city shops boing visited. Counsel raised tjie plea of the woman's Jioalth, but the 3Iagistrate CMr F. K. Hvint) said he might liave been ahle to accept that oxplanation if thcre liad hecn only oue charge.
