1I0XTHLY IIECTJXG OF COUNOIL. ( Tlie monthly meeting of the Waipawa County Council was held yesterday. Present: Crs. L. Glemiy (chairman), J. Butler, N. M. Paulsen, C. F. Banbridge, B. Gray and C. Thomsen. The District Publie Trustee, Napier, wroto asking that the Smedley road he put 111 order ancl that _ the council request owners of land adjoining to fence their properfcies. — Action j to he Laken as suggested. _ | The cliairman. Howard Advisory Board, wrote drawing attention to the state of the Smedley road. He was of opinion that cattle camping on the road were causing damage and it was necessary for the road _tO' he fenced. The board liad issued instructions to have the estate's portion fenced.— It was resolved to> serve fencing notices 011 the owners ooncerned. E. Macfarlane, seeretary. Forest Gate Cemeterv Trastees, wrote asking for annual grant for the cemetery. — Grant of £15 made, also^grant or £10 to Takapau cemetery, £5 to Clinton. ancl £5 to Makeretu. The seeretary, Lincksay II ater Race j Committee, advised the appointment i of Ifr IV. T. Tcrry to fill the vacancv 1 011 the committee caused hy the death j of Mr E. It was decided to crect ivooden aji1 proaches to the small briduo 110,11 s Stokes at Tikokino and to paint them wliite. , The engineer reported that iwo miles , of Ihe ° IVaipawa-IVaiiiiikurau road I would need re-tarring this Summer as j it was hreaking away. — Authontv was j given to do tho work.
