BRISBAXE, August 18. Tlie King's Cup, 1J mile, l-esulted : — Valparaiso 1. Royal Flavour 2, Guncraft 3. W011 by a short lengtb, third a length and a half back. Time, 2min. 20^secs., a Queensland record. Seatown was sixth and Oratrix tentb. . Taking up tlie running going out of the straight, Valparaiso led all the way and was well clear into the straight, wliere he was challenged by Guncraft and Royal Flavour. Valparaiso finished strongly, winning by a short length from Royal Flavour, Guncraft a length and a half awa.v. Oi-atrix xvas prominent early, but faded out, finishing well back. Seatoxvn did not run as well as earlier in tlie meeting, but finished wel] considering the race xvas run witbin a second of the Australian record and half a second faster than the Queensland record.
