MATCHES ON NELSON PARK;, NAPIER. RESULTS OF LADIES' GAMES. Ideal conditions prevailed on Nelson Park, Napier, for the liockey competitions. There were no men's matches in Napier but in the ladies' department a very interesting game was witnessed between Tamatea and Napier, tlie match resulting in a victory for Napier by four-goals to one. Ihe first part of the game was very even, both sides showing excellent control of the ball and good speed. Tamatea were playing against the wind and after about ten minutes' play they penetrated the defence and from a scramble in front of tlie goal, Tamatea netted, making the score : — Tamatea I Napier Napier retaliated after this reverse and it was not long before the scores were equalised, K. Mortensen finding the net with a fine shot to the back of the net.
