The Meteorologieal Department's forecast at noon to-day was as follows : — "The ilidications are for liortlierly fresheiiing winds, moderate to strong, and backing by west to tsoutli, after about 36 liours. Expect dull weather ivitll mnch mist and fog in parts. Heavy rain is to be expeeted. Weather will probably becortie colder. Barometer, "falling; scas, rough; tidcs, good."
