'VULTURE AMONGST THE LAMBS.'. CASES HEARD IN TIMARU.
TIMARU, Saturday. "This man is one of the vultures who are living on the lambs of Timaru," said Inspector Bird of Ivan Vuleta, who, in the Magistrate's Court .to-day, was fined £100 "and costs, in default three montlis' imprisonment for having kept a commoii gaming house in Timaru "Wiiliam Alexander O'Connor, barman, for a simliar offence, was fined £100 and costs, in default three months' imprisonment. Mr C. R. Orr -Walker, S.M., was on tho Bench. Yuleia and O'Connor pleaded not guiltv to the charge of bookmaking and guilty to that of keeping a common gaming liouse. Tlie inspector withdrew the bookmaking cbarges.
