"VISITING TRAM PATRON."
To the Editor. Sir, — I would like to hring under thenotice of those who are responsihle for running the tramway service the very unsatisfactory way, the "pay : s yon enter" system is eonducted. I don't know w'hat parts of the day the system is in vogue, only that it operates after the theatres come out at night. Wefc and cold nights find people standing in the streqjj* waiting their turn to get into the car while the motorman is collecting fares and issuing ticketa to those getting in. This is driving eustoni away, as I find that my wife and myself,( by walking, not only get warm but can arrive at Sale street, very often as soon as the car, thue arriving home war m and four pence in pocket, whic-h otherwise the tramway people would liave got. I know this system has turned a lot of theatre people away from the trams and probably for good. I saw an inspector watching operations some time ago now, and thought he would report the matter. but evidentlv not. — -I am. ete..
