Mlt D1NN1E THOMAS. WELL KNOWN RFGBY FOOTBALLEll. It was with very grcat surjiriae and deep rcyret that residents of Hastings, pfirticularly liugby tootball followers. learned yesterday oi tlie death of JMr Diimie Thoinas, the onl.v son of Mr and Mrs Miki Tliomas, of 'Waimarama. The decen&ed lad, who was only 19 yeurs of age, was oue of tlie most proniising of the present-day .iunior i'ootballers, and was a very popular member oi the Waimarama team. Last Saturday week, he played his usual elub mateh, and was picked to represent Hawke's Bay in tlie matcli ngainst Wairarapa last Sntnrday, bnt in the interval, lie took ill with pnoumonia, this ultimately resulting in his death yesterday morning. The lad was of a partieularlv bright and clieery nature, and on the football field, and amongst a large oircle of friends, he will be greatly missed. In their bereavement, tlie ver.v deepest sympatliy will be extended to Mr and Mrs Tliomas.
