REPLY TO MR GEORGE.
"RUBIS."
To tbe Editor. Sir, — I delight in rending the letters which Mr A. A. George so kindly contributes to your colunms. They are so refreshing! So aniusing! He reaches great lieights in his latest attempt, re eruelty to animals. M'hat he said was very interesting. AYhat he didu't say, bowever, was more interesting. A.ccording to his views 011 slaughtered sheep and cattle, he must ,be a vegetarian. I11 fact, I liave visions of him boycotting all local butchers, because of the cruel manner in which they reduce tbe sheep and cattle to terms of roasts, joints, etc. Going further, one can imagine bim as adoptiog, "D011, t be cruel to a vegetabuel," as his antliem. On tlie question of fisli, Mr George is almost as warm as tbe poor crayfish, for whom he makes such a touching apiieal. One has to assume tliat tlie palatable trout and its cousins, to all degrees, liive never fallen victim to the insatiable greed of Mr George. You see liow wide the question beoomes. To sum up lie must eitlier forsake bis beliefs or go very hungrv. ITnfortunately, he finishes on a weak note, becoming merely rudely contemptuous at tlie expense of bis "honorarv officials." However, there i'c linnn T G m pfp
