HASTINGS LADY PILOT.
A two-seater Moth aeropane visited Wanganui, piloted by Mrs W. Richmond. of Hastings, who has the distinction of being the first lady pilot to Wanganui, says the Wanganui Chronicle. Mrs Richmond's flight to Wanganui was part of the test necessary for her to secure her certificate, and she was at the controls from Hastings, accompanied by Captain T. W. White, instructor attached to the Hawke's Bay Aero Club. The flying time from Hastings aerodrome to Wanganui Post Office was one hour and fifty-five minutes. Mrs Richmond and Captain White were welcomed by members of the Wanganui Aero Club. Mrs Richmond was the recipient of a beautiful bouquet of violets.
