The first. problem was solved hy Gerjmanv agroeing to pay half and Engj iand, France and Belgium the other i half. j Britain contrihuted to tlie settlemont I by agreeing to rennunce in Gerrnnny's j i favour a portion of her uneonditional | i annuities. j Tlie finaueial settlement ineludes tlie | eaneellation of tbe right of re-export of : tleliverios in kind. Goi'niany will redueo the export of reparntions eoal to Italy in the first yea r hy 1,500,000 tons. Britain will tlios benefit to the extcnt of 1,000.000 tons anually.
