HUSBAND AND WIFE IN HOSPITAL. EXTRAORDINARY AEFAIR IN, . CHRISTCHURCH.

CHRISTCHURCH, This day. AUeging that he had been attacked by his wife with a razor, Mr G. E. St. George, aged 40, a postal official, living at 25 Melrose street, city, was admitted to the hospital early this morning suffering from fairly severe wounds on his face, neek and arms. Subsequently Mrs St. George was also admitted suffering from similar wounds. A neighbour of Mr and Mrs St. George was aroused hy a knocking at 1.30 a.m. and found Afr St. George on the doorstep, c-lad in his pyjamas, with hlood streaming from wounds on his face neck and arms. , He asked that the 3X)lice he sent for alleging that his wife had attacked him with a razor after a domestic quarrel. The neighbour tlien investigated and found Mrs St. George also suffering from minor wounds. The police 'were sent for and the couple were taken to the hospital. The woman was only discharged from the hospital 011 Sunday morning after treatment for an illness. Tliere is one child, a boy of six. The neighhours state that relations hetween the two have been strained for some time. Botli are progressing.
