NAPIER DEFENCE CLUB. OPENING OF THE SEASON. The mcinbers of tlie Napier Defence Club held tlie opening shoot of the 1929-30 season 011 the Tutnekuri rauge on Saturday afternoon. A strong, cold southerly with several showers made shooting conditions extremely hard, and consequently high scores were not the order of the day. Rfm. L. Profitt, with 90 from scratch. registered the best performance off tbe rifle. A teams match between teains diosen by the ]iresidcnt and dcputv-president resultod in a narrow victory for tlie former by one point, a sweepstake run concurrcntly resulting as follows: —
