AN IMPORTANT DISCOVERY. SAID TO R1VAL WAITOMO.
WANGANUI, This day. It is stated that during the course of some investigations he was making along the bulls of the upper reaches of the Wanganui River the late Mr W. Salt, president of the Ruapehu Ski Club, came across some magnificent glowworm caves, which he iuvestigated as extensively as possible. These caves, it is said, are of very great beauty; and were it possible to pvovide aecess to them they would open up anotlier ontstandiug tourist attractioir! Unfortunately Mr Salt's career was cut short by a fatal accident, but if it was found praclicable to develop the caves they should be iuvestigated fuvtlier. It is stated tliat the caves rival those of Waitomo, but the main problem is tliat of access.
