PASSING OF A GREAT SPORTSMAN. FOOTBALLERS' TRIBUTE.

AUCKLAND, This day. After inlieriting a fortune of £28,000 from an uncle in England 12 montlis ago, following on a liard struggle to liye, Mr L. W. W. Brown, of Hamilton, died in a private hospital at Hamilton on Saturday morning after an operation for appendicitis. Mr Brown, who was 59 years of age, had been • aetivelv counected with nearly every sport in Hamilton. His good fortune made little difference to liim and lie still carried on tlie labour and land agency which he had been runnihg for some years. Footballers on Saturday wore black armlets as a niark of respect. ^ He leaves a widow and six sons.
