MEETING OF HASTINGS BRANCH. The fortnightly meeting of the Hastings Branch Committeee of the Hawke's Bav ,4V ar KeJief Associatiou was held this morning. '' The members present were Afessrs J. H. C'olehourne (in tlie cliair), AAr. Hart, H. Holderness and AAT. J. AArlnte. Twenty-four returnecl soldiers' cases were considered and graiits totalling £24 6s 2d were anthorised, and loans totalling £150, and grants totalling, £38, were recommended to the provincial cxecutivo of the association. A statement of payments and receipts for the month of September, sbowing grants to soldiers £72 ls. grants to dependants £15 10s. loans to soldiers £71 12s ld, payments on account of other societies £89 16s 3d. and repaynients received £399 5s 5d, was placed before tlie- meetjng and approved.
