The annual sheep returns wei'e presented to the House of Representatives yesterday. The figures show that during the year ended April 30 laat the nuniber of sheepowners in the N a pier-Gisborn e districts increased from 3610 toi 3629 and the number of sheep from 6,539,179 to 6,795,339. Sheepowners for the whole of • the Dominion increased from 25,982 to 26,712 and sheep from 27,133,810 to 29,051,382. The North Island total of sheep is 15,588,444, an inorease of 1,133,900. The ownership of floc-ks is indicated as follows : — One to 200 sheep, 555 owners ; 201 to 500 sheep, 6364 owners; 501 to 1000 sheep, 6313 owners ; 1000 to 2500 sheep, 5975 owners; 2501 to 5000 sheep, 1724 owners ; 5001 to 7500 sheep, 440 owners ; 7501 to 10,0110 sheep, 173 owners ; 10,000 to 20,000 sheep, 146 owners; 20,000 and over, 26 owners.
