MISS BEADEL THE WINNER,
iWELLINGTON, Last night. A tournament to decicle the Wellington provincial ladies' golf championship was conciuded on tlie Heretaunga linlvs to-day, when Miss Beadel, of Christchurch, toolc the honour by defeating Miss Culling, of Auckland, by 3 up and 1 to play. A gallery of about 100 was not treated to a high class display, as both ladies appeared to he stale after their strenuous games afc the New Zealand championship tourney at Christchurch, and they did not play anything like up to their customary form. Tliough both drove long balls off the tees, their direction was not of the best, and neither couhl handle her putter with anything like ac-curacy. The weather was tlie best which had been experienced during the tournament, and fairwavs and greens were in tiptop condition. In the semi-fmals !Miss Beadel beat Miss McClure, 3 and 2, and Miss Gulling heat Miss Chrystall at the nineteenth. Miss McClure was apparentlv not playing up to her best form, her putting heing generallv weak. The game hetween Miss Culling and Miss Chrystall was verykeenlv contested, going to tho nineteentli hole, hut there were no ontstanding incidents. In the final hliss Beadel was one uo at the turn, and thenceforward ss Cullins won only oue hole, the 14th, tho 10th 12th. 15th and 16th heing lialved. Miss Beadel won at the seventeenth.^3 up and one.
