"A dangerous young gang of criminals," was the description given hv the Chief Justiee in sentencing a numher of youths for hreaking and entering hv night and theft, hreaking and entering with intent to commit a crime and reeeiving. They had pleaded guilty at New Plymouth. .Tames hlullany. 22, for hreaking entering and theft. two eharees, who had been sentenced at New Plymouth to three years' refonnative treatment, lia6 his sentence inereased to five. William Claude White, 21, for hreaking. enterinc and theft, received simi--lar -treatment. Samuel Patrick White, 19. for hreaking. entering and theft. three eharges, and Leonnrd Miehael MThite, 17, ditto. .lohn M"llally, 19. hreaking and entering theft, five cliarges of hreaking _ and entering with intent to' eommit a crime, got five years' Borstal.^ A reonmmendation' to the authoi'ities that they he in separate institutions, if po'ssihle. was made, to break up the association. Charles Edward King, 20. for hreaking. entering and theft, got two years prohation. His Hnnour said that King night have heen led to his offence hy the idea that the othevs were heroes, hufc they were not, they were criminals, and criminals of a bad typo. \
