OBITUARY
hHt MAURICE BEGLEY.
It was with very sincere regret that many residents of Hastings learned this morning of the death of Mr Maurice Begley, which occurred at 1ns residence, Tomoana road, last night. The late Mr Begley,. who was 68 years of age, was a well-known figure ju Hastings, in which place he and his family had resided for many years. Until recently he had followed farming pursuits, and was a prominent memher of tlie Heretaunga Dairy Co., at one timo being on the directorate of this concern. He was also a devoted member of the Hastings Catholic Church and his upstanding character and manliness earned him many friends, hy wliom his death will be verv deeplv regretted. The late Mr Begley contracted^ a somewhat sudden illness some time ago and graduallv grew worse, hut he bore up in his char'acteristic manner vight to the end. To his widow and family will he extended the deepest svmoathv in their hei'eavement. Tlio funeral will leave his late residence for the Hastings Catholic fTiurch at 2 p.m. to-morrow and will then go the Hastincs Cemetery.
