WELLINGTON, Lasfc niglit._ Tlie p-olicy of the Government in regard to New Zealand manufacturerers was touclied upon by the Ministor of Industries and Commerce wlien addressing tlie Mellington Manufacturers' Association to-niglit. The Government hoped to establish ari industries board, and a Parliamentary committee had been appointed to report upon tho secondary industries oi the Dominion, with a view to further ing their tvelfare. The Government s policv of purcliasing (other things being equal) New Zealand manufacturers, with a bias in favour of industries giving a large amount of employnient, was more definite tlian any for some time. He was sure Mr T. W . Collms, who had been appointed to the board or control in connection witli the purchase of Government stores, would give New Zealand manufacturers a fair Regarding the proposed industries board. tlie Government had not been able to do all it desired. but the imntter would receive tlie close and serious consideration not only of his departinent but also tbat of bis colleagues. Tt was necessarv that something be done at once. The Parliamentary committe that had been set up would visit in the recess factories in various parts ofthe Dominion. AVhen the nest session opened the committee would be in a position to report and as a result sometliing would he done in the dfiection manufacturers desired. The Minister urged manufacturers to advertise the value of their prodncts among the people of the Dominion.
