P- I\enny, of Napier, secretary of the Napier Harbour Jloard, returned hy the express train last 'night from a tour of Ameriea and Europe. Mr George Latliam. of Shakespeare road, Napier, is at present confined to his bed and will be entering a private Jiospital ' at the early part of next week. The Rey. G. V. Gerard has heen appointed vicar of Pahiatua. Mr Gerard was an assistant curate at Timaru, from which position he went back. to England for experience. During the war he had a commission in the Buffs, and was awarded tlie Military Cross.
