SCHEME FOR INTENSIVE CAMPAIGN. MINISTER'S STATEAIENT.
PALMERSTON N., This day. An annouucement tliat he is at present engaged on preliminary organisation for pursuing anNintensive'publicity campaign, was made by the Hon. R. A. de la .Perelle this morning. . Tbe Miuister said tliat eonsiderable inquiries had heen made by prospective American visitors, wliose intention was to come liere sight-seeing and fishing. "I am liaving an early conference of all departmental heads in New Zealand with regard to a vigorous campaign in Australia," said the Minister. A campaign had already been started in the Comomnwealtli ; . _ "I Iook upon puhlicity as an- important industry. Last year we received .-£1 ,000,000 of foreign capital .from- .tourists- and I hope. tliis will he considerabl.v greater during the next twelve months." - The Minister hoped that with a Mel-hourne-Bluff Steamer service Australian tourists would arrive at the 1'atter place arid tbur tliroughout the Dominion.- ■ - The Minister later left "for Wanganui and afterwards goes to New Plymouth. . . _J
