Fearing interference on the rails, Duncan took his mount to the outside, where he made a good run to the halfinile post, being fpnrth at that spot. He gained further approac-hing the straight entrance and soon had Taislia beaten. . High Svce passed the leader. Pnnce Viol, half-way down the straight, and was 'not ridden out, to win easily by two lengths, in record time. While the crowd applauded the winner, the majority of racegoers did not overlook Amouuis' great effort in gaining second place. Amounis was checked in the early stages and at the rear of the field leaving the straight, did not gain until five furlongs from home. There he put in a great run, hut High Syce was too strong for him.
