MARAEKAKAHO STUD DISBERSAL GOOD PRIOES EOR BULLS. Good prices were realised at the final sale of the dispersal of the famous Maraekakaho Shorthorn herd oa Satuidav. In the two-year-old heifers, Alaraekakaho Napier Rose and Maraekakaho "Winsome Gem fell to the bids of Mr C. II. Stanfield, Dannevirke, at 43 and oi guineas respectively. Tliese were the top prices for two-year-old heifers. The yearling heifers wero on the whole a very fine lot, hut only a few reached anything like a fair price. Tfie txvo highest priced were Maraekakaho Secret Lady II., 41 guineas, and "Maraekakaho "White Alint II., 40 guineas, which were bought by Mescsrs E. G. Wright, Canterbury, and J. Scott, Canterbury, respectively. The bulls were all in good demapd, and for some bidding was quite brisk. ] The top price of the sale, 90 guineas, was paid for Maraekakaho Bold Baron, a fine four-year-old bull, tliat goes to Oamaru. The buyers may be said to have been thoroughiy representative of every part of the Dominion, for purchasers came from Oamaru in the Soutli to the far north of Auckland. It was again pleasing to note that *i great _ manv of the best animals will remain in Hawke's Bay. The total nmount realised by the sale was £5 221, which gives an average of anprnximatcly £20 per Jicad. Messrs H. N. Rtewart and 0. Krogh, for their resnective firms acted as auctioneers.
