HEAYY CATTLE YARD ING. SLIGHT DROP IN PRICES. f Tliere was a very large attendance at the Stortford Lodge saleyards today, ineluding several buvers from Wanganui and Feilding. The yarding of cattle Avas exceptionally heavy but prices generally showed a slight decrease on ruUng rates except for fii-st quality qfterings. For fat bullocks competition was fairly keen, prices ranging up to £13 3s. 4 licre was a keen demand for fat cows. the majority of whicli were of exceptionally good quality. Prices for tliese ranged from £11 Is to £13. Fat heifers were also of liigh quality and comjietition for theiu was keen/ prices ranging from £9 10s to £12 10s. In the sheep pens there was a particularlv good yarding of fats, witn onlv a few stores. Bidding generally was very slack. quite n liumber of pens being passed in 1 he best price for fat cwes was 23s 0d and fat boggets, 26s. Other, prices were on a par with those at recent rates.
