Brocklehurst, Th.L., has acceptcd appointnienb as Yi'car of the, Catbedral parish of St. .fohn tbe Divine, Napier, in succession to tlie laie Dean F. Mayne. Archdoacon Brocklehurst, who has been conducting the services in tbe Catbedral for some montbs now, is _ well known as a zeahms and eiitbusiastic cluircluiian and an able and eloquent preacher. Tlie Arcluleacnn first came to the Dominion from Australia in 190i, and from 1907-10 was Yicar of Waitara. In 1910 he was appointed to Hastings, a charge which lic lield for ten years, and from 1924-1926 was in charge of the Otane distriet. He was appointed Archdeaeon in 1926, leaving Otane to taka over tlie responsible position of secretary to the Waiapn Dioeese and pi'ivate chaplain to the Bishop of Waiajin. He held tliis fornter position until 192s, when he was sncceeded by Mr R. E. TT. Pilson and since then has sorved tlie dioeese in the capacity of organising secretary.
