WORK SESUHED AT ABATTOIRS.

AUCKLAND^ Last night. Work was resumed this afternoon at the City Abattoir and at the works of R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., at AVestfield by the 100 slaughtea'men who went on strike on Wednesday. The City Council arranged a conference immediately to diseuss the points raised by the men in conneetion with the disputed award conditions regarding pig slaughtering. Finality was not reached on all the matters but the 1 workers' representatives arranged to report the deliberations of the conference to the slaughtermen to-mor-row morning. Mr P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, stated that the offer to-night had been made to the slaughtfrrmen, and that their attitude should he known to-morrow.
