GIRLS' DRILL DISPLAY
J'UNCTION AT NAPIER HIGH SCHOOL. A large attendance, of parents and friends assenibled at tlie Napier Girls' High School yesterday afternoon, to witness the special drill disphly given by pupils of the school. A i'eature of the display was the work of a special squad of 60 senior girls under Miss Gloyn, the sports mistress. The exercises were entirely different from the usual type witnessed at sucli displavs, heing basecl on the system of a weil-known Dunedin medical authority, in which Miss Gloyn has liad special instruction. Rhythm and grace were tHe salient features of the exercises, in -which a number of dance steps were introduced. The complimeiitary remarks heard on all sides showed to wliat degree the disjilay was appreciated. Besides the drill there was a very fine exhihition of handworlc, leather work, which was heautifully done. woodwork. all styles of painting and drawing and marquetrv. The exhibition proved a decided attraction and demonstrated the excellence of the work done at ihe school.
