HAAVKE'S BAY A. AND P. SOCIETY SATfSFIED. A report on the recent Spring Show, submitted at the meeting of the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society to-day, showed that there was an estimated profit of £1304, eompared with £1057 for the same shoiv last year — a reeord. Ti- was shown tliat both gate receipts and entry fees had increased. The president, Mr R. H. Tod, said that the society had every reason to he proud of the last show, whieh had heen in every way a wonderful success. Exhibitbrs and patrons alike seeinfd very srttisfied witli the whole sliow, and too mueh could not be said for the wonderful work done hy tlie secretary, 51r A. 51. Retemeyer. Votes of thanks for assistance given m making the ehow such a sucee°s were passed to the judges and stewards, tlie St. John Ambttlance, Mr Dempstdr Thompson, 51essrs Nelsons, Ltd., Hawke's Bay Joekey Club, railwav officials, poTiee officers and traff.c mspeetors and Hasting Borough Council. A special vote of thanks was passed to the Hawke's Bav Kennel Association for the great assistance it had been in the running of the dog §eetion or the show. The president remark..d that the dog section had become oue .0! tbe features of the show and the association had to be thanked for making it so. Letters were read from the judges of the harness horse and ponies, cattle and shedp sectious thanking the committee and the stewards for tlie kindness extended to them. The president of the Hawke's Bay Kennel Association wrote thanking the president and committee for consideration and generosity extended to the dog fanciers, in providing an up-to-date pavilioii which was spoken of l,y visiting faheiers as the best in the Dominion, further expressmg tlie appreeiation of his members in being c 1lcwed to carry out the duties of stewards and the running nf the dog section, further offering their co-opfera-tion for the future.
