MID-DAY FIRE

LITTLE DAMAGE DONE. A few minutes after mid-day to-day, tlie Elastings Fire Brigade received a call to the residence of Mr Gilbert McKay, in EHison road. On arrival the brigade found that a wasli-liouse was ablaze but it was soon extinguished before any serious damage was done. The fire resulted through some paper in the wash-house catching fire whilst preparations were being made for washing. A fair amount of liouschold linen, etc., was detroved.
