SWIMMING
HERETAUNGA CLUB. The usual weekly meeting of the above club committee was hckl last night, Mr A, I. Rainbow being in tlie chair. It was with regrct that the committee leanied of the illness of hlr H. Le Bas, the populnr seeretary of tlie Hawke's Bav Centre, and it was decided to forward liim a letter wisliing liiin a speedy rc coverv. Furtlier arrangements were made in conuection with the appearauce of the Australian champions, Jlyan and Griffilhs. at a grand camival in Decemlier in Hastings. Entries close with the seeretary, or Mr H. B. Poppelwell. It was decided to carry on next Friday witli tlie programme postponcd irom last wcok. The following honorary mcmhers were elccted : — hlr E. L. Sutro, Mrs F. L. Gordon. Xlr F. L. Gordon. The compulsory dives suhniitted by Havelock Club for tlie first unter-club contest for the Rainbow Shield, to be lield at Havelock North, were as follows:— Low hoard : Back dive. lm'f serow forward, running. High hoard: Rimning plaixi, lialf horer forward, standing.
