WAIPUKURAU, This da.v. At last night's meeting of the Chamber of Commerce; the question of the proposed new bridge over tlie Tuki Tuki was discussed. It will be remein bered tbat the IVaipukurau Borough Council advised Wellington that it considered the present bndge suitable for a number of years yet, but tlie Patangata County Council, who are the controlling body, asked to be relieved of the re'sponsibilitv ^^^dischiinv'd delayed. > •' f The cbamber last;eyening was stronglv in favour of the early rebuilding of the bridge and tlie followmg moUon was unailimously carried. — "That in view of the fact that the Public Works Depa'rtment enginenvs have, for a. period of years, reported the IVaipukurau traffic bridge unsafe, it should bc rebuilt. Also in view of the satisfactory subsidy offered towards the. cost of rebuilding tbe bridge, this chamber is of tlie opinion that the timo is cpportunc to proceed with the re-erection of the bridge."
