Department' s forecast at noon to-day, for the following 24 liours, was as follows : "The indications are- for soutlierly winds, nioderate to strong, later veering bv wost to north. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, tempcraiures becoming railder. Barometer, little movcment, but falling slowly shortly. Scas and tides, modorate." ' WEATHER IN NAPIER. Mr R. Thomas, Government recorder in Napier, reported as follows this morning: — Yesterday's maximum tempernture in the sliacle, 66 ; in the sun, 139; minimum, 50; two fect iiiidergrouiid, 64; terrestrial teniperature, 44.2. Wind. — 5) milcs pcr liour. Rain. — 0.20 inclies. Sunshine. — 7 hours.
