There are eight song hits and more Ihan 100 beautii'ul girls in the chorus and hallet. "Words and Music" is a sliow within a sliow. One is introduced at tlie outset to a crowd of cheerful students vying with caeb other iu what is evideutly the American equivalent of a capping concert. A prize of £300 is offered for tlie ,best ensemble number. Interest centres on two rival "producers" — tlie college bully and the son of the local music store uwner. Tliere is ricli comedv in tlie . studeut capers tliat pt-ecede the opening of the competition scenes. but tlie cliaraeter of tlie storv remains unaltered imtil the time comes i'or the preservation of tlie rival numbers. Tlien "Words and VTusic" becomes a musical comedy indeed — with tuneful melodies, gorgeous froeking, excellent dancing and perf'ect ensemhles of several kinds. A new programme will be presented to-morroiv afternoon.
