Probably the most varied programme : ever offered in Xew Zealand's mbtor world will be that of the Napier Mutor Raciug Cluh, which takes place on Xew' Year's Day. First on the list comes the local amateur race, wlien several new riders will take the field for the first time. Two and tlu-ee Avill be a lightweight and middleweight handicap, respectb'ely, Avffien, in both these races, tlie riders will be ehasing an early Avin. Raco four wil 1 see the famous Perc-y Coleman in action, wlien riding of some elass will be Avitnessed. In Auckland only three Aveeks ago Coleman, at the remarkable average speed of 85 milesv per liour, broke the course record and put up the great perfonuanee of winning three out of four races from ' soratc-h. His fourth attempt most prohablv aa'ould also have been a win only he liad the misfortune to rnn into a flag Avhen cornering too closely. Race fiA'e will be one of tbose favourite rolliug start events, aadnle race six is ihe "daddj'" event of tbe day. This will be the Neiv Zealand middleAveight championship, Avhich everv rider and motor cycle manufacturer' aims at. it being the higliest lionour to obtain in XeAv Zealand. Number seven is Napier1 s first ear" race and witliout a doubt will be tlie tlirili producer of tlie day. Four Austins and two MorrisMinors have qntered for this event, but OAving to a mishap AA-hile trainiug, one Morris mav he an unlikeJv starter. However, the race will be a great one. Event eight Avill he the 10-miler or in otber Avords tlie endurauce test and oue Avbere Percy Coleman again sbines Avith liis big macbine. Races nine and teu are liglit and Jniddlmveigbt respectivelv, and conclude tbe first day. The second dayks (Thursdayl rncing programme Avili be exactlv the same as the first. excepting tliat tbe opening event AA'ill be an open novic-e, instead of a local race. Picnie parties will be entered for and hot water aauII be available on tlie ground. The musical programme Avill be in tlie capa'ble hands of Messrs C. B Hansen anj Co. and this firm is also sunplying four or five loud speakcrs with full pubh'c address broadcasting equipment. The proc-eeds of tlie meoting are in aid of installing radio at the Napier Hospital and given a fine Iavo davs the club should be able to make a subhtantial donation to the radio fund. Gntes will open at- 10 a.m. for picnie parties and the first race heguis promptlv at 12.30 p.m. Rates of admission are advertisej in anotlier column.
