GOOD ENTERTAINMENT
NAPIER BELLBIRDS' SECOND ANNUAL PERFORMENCE. MANY LAUGHS PROVIDED. A11 excellent programme of entcrtaining items was presented by the Bluebird Variet.v Entertainers in the Napier Municipal Theatre 011 Saturday night. The Bluebirds, who are a band of amateur entertainers from Napier , were in great form and the programme they submitted won unstinted applausc. This is onlv the second annual perfonnance of the Bluebirds, but all incklations suggest that they can look forwaid to a rosy future. O11 Saturday niglrt the performers acquitted themselves with distinction, even those who were making their first publie appearance facing the audience with confidence. Mrs 31. Widerstvom deserves praise for the standard to which she b/is developed the new company. their work showing the care and trouble that had been taken in the preparation of the programme. Most of the items were of a buruorous nature, 3Iessrs 3V. Ireland and W. Qunrrio and 31rs AViderstrom being conspicuous in this part of tbe work, while 3Iisses Alma C'argill and Ada Bald led colourful ballets. A particularly appreciated portion of the programme was the singing of many old favourites by 3Ir Alec Wright. 31r Harry C'ooper's orchestra played ovevture and accompaniment music.
