WITH THE BOWLERS
PLAY AT NAPIER CLUBS. .VISIT FROM WAIPUKURAU. The weather conditions for bowls were perfect on Saturday when there were good attendances at the various gi'eens . Three rinks from Waipukurau visited the Port, Mr Mcljeay welcoxning tliem. The visitors gave a good account of tlxemselves, but failed to liold the home players. This was particularly notieeable with J. P. Smith's (Park Island) rink, the veterans never being in danger of defeat. Wrightson' had a sti-ong lead against Bryant, but at the finisli the leeway was made up handsomely by Waipukurau. McLeav and Cook had a real good game, plnv being interesting througbout. In tbe other rinks Burrows and Ruffell played a draw, 18 all, while L. Smith had 8 margin of four over McGregor. Detailed scores, Waipukux-au players mentioned first : — WAIPUKURAU V. PORT AHURIRI.
