British Approval Unlikely. Question Of Security Guarantee,
LONDON, March 10. The Daily Xelegraph's diplomatie corrspondent says M. Briand's conversations with Mr MacDonald and the American delegates during the weekend again revived, although less directly, the _ question whether Britain, as a condition to a reduction or France's naval building, shall enter into further war commitments for the defence of French security France will pot be coptent with a' mere undertaking of the five Powers to make counsel together in the event of a threat of war. M. Briand wishes them to declare war nnthinkable as between any of their number, and also requires them to hind themselves should war become imminexxt to act in concert in measiires. including ooercjve measures, for ihe prevention of conflict. The correspondent is of oninion that it may he safelv assumed that further war eommitmeuts will he opposed to ihe uttermost bv the dominions.
