DUNEDIN, Last night. A lawn tennis match was commenced to-day between the Australians and the South Island. The singles were evenly dividerl, but the Australians won botli of the doubles, giving them a lead of four rubbers to two on the day's play. A high wind blew across the courts, but nevertbeless the display was of a high standard all round. Scores (Australian names first) : — Singles. Kalms beat Rhodes Williams, 6 — 3, &— 4. Sproule lost to Angas, 6^-3, 1 — 6, 6—8. Teague beat Glanville, 6 — 2, 6 — 2. Donohoe lost to McDougall, 4—6, 4 — 6. Doubles. Kalms and Teague beat Angas and Rhodes Williams, 6 — 0, 6 — 4. Sproule and Donohoe beat Glanville and McDougall, 6 — 2, 6 — 2. The match will be continued to-mor-row. ,
