International incidents will probahly arise as a consequence of unwarranted and insulting remarks addressed by the provincial court judge, Yang Chao Lung, a newly-appointed youthful member of the Chinese judiciary, to a lawyer, Mr Blumlield Brownj a prom uient British practitioner and a mem ber of one of the oldest legal firms, at a civil hearing, •Judge Yang called Mr Brovm dull witted, dishonest, clumsy and foolisli causing the British Consular Deputy Mr Herbert, who is still eligible to preside at the provincial court pen iing the commencement of the ' new agreement, to instantly vacate the Bench .fqllowing a carefully repeated translation of the jndge's remarks. The incident is regarded locally as an unliappy augury to the future suceess of tbe provincial court. Mr Herbert is dfficially reporting the mcident. Judge Yang declares that he is readv to fight Mr Brown to a finish.
