An insurance company has paid a novel claim, / An actress broke a pearl necklace and her pet dog swallowed the Iargest peaij,, which was recovei'ed by means of an emetic, but it was diminished in size presumably partly dissolved in the d^ s stomach. The company paid' the ditterence between the present value and the value of the gem befbre- it was swallowed.'
