The British spokesman reported that the Anglo-French naval Ministers and experts continued discussions on the statistical aspects of the Anglo-French figures, hut that nothing particularly uew was brought but. The First Committee has finished its report on iglobal and categorical tonnages ; also unclassified' ships, with the exception of the problem of unclassified air craft carriers. The submarine discussion is progressing slowly. The experts suh-com-mitte© drafted a report regarding the size and number of submarines. The report also embodies viewpoints on super subniarines, beyond 2000 tons. Tlie question of humanising these craft was dealt with to some extent by the experts, but there are divergeneies of view relatigg to the Ro_ot solutions affeeting sanctions and circumstances immunising mercbant ships frofri attack and it is likely to filter back to tbe First Committee or perkaps the heads of tlie delegations.
