C0ULD NOT MAKE 0FFER NAPIER LABOURER'S CREDITORS MEET. MEETING ADJOURNED FOR THREE MONTHS. A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of David Martin, labourer, of Napier, was held in the Napier Courthouse this morning, the Official Assignee, hlr G. G. Chisholm, presiding. There were nine proved creditors represented. Bankrupt was present aua was represented hy Mr C. W. Nash. The Official Assignee, in openmg, read the personal statement of bankrupt and also his statement of affairs. Bankrupt was examined by. creditors as to making an offer, but denied Lhat he was in a position to do so at present, He had been forced to file iu self-protection, as his creditors were pressing him. Several creditors pointed out that their debts were for household expenses and shonld have been paid, but bankrupt stated that he was up agairtst a hurdle in paying off an amount to Mossman and Co. Mr Nasn stated that the amount owed was ro the vicinity of £8. On tlie motion . of Mr W. J. Brown, ^econded by Mr G. F. Taylor, the meeting was declared adjourned for three rnonths, in ordeu- to permit the bankrupt to report his position and. prospects hy that time.
