The Chemnitz correspondent of The Times, dealing witb the hosiery Bituation stated that the sudcjen increase of dufy on hosiery entering Italy was hitting some makers bard, as tbere was a very fair trade here, especially in fine-gauge "chiffon" 'ladies' hose. Australian houses bave been trying to cancel orders here, fbut most makers are making a determined stand, as in Leicester and Nottingham, against sucb demands."
