A GREAT TRIP
BOY SCOUTS VISIT "SOMERSET." HASTINGS PARTY'S OUTING. V* On Saturday afternoon, 32 boys of the Frimley Boy Scout troop under Scoutmaster Captain B. Dunlop and Assistant-Scoutmaster J. Heir, left Hastings per motor lorr.v, to visit the R.M.S. Somerset, the New Zeaiand Shipping Coy's. hig ship at Napier. The arrangements for the visit were made by Mr McLeay, manager of Richardson and Co. and the boys were taken out on the liarbour lauuch. On arrival at ,the steamer, the boys were welcomed by Chief Officer Smith, who instructed the oflncers of the various departments to sliow the lads everytliing to be seen. Naturally, pranyally every part of tlie ship was visited, including the engine rooms, 6haft tunnel, electric dynamos and condensers. Afternoon tea was generouslv provided by the ship and the boys showed their appreeiation by loudlv cheering all the officers and crew. It was a great day for the Scouts.
