SYDNEY, March 25. Racing circles were surprised by the scratching of Commendation for all engagements at the forthcoming Australian Jockey Club carnival. 'Since arrival in November for the leading Summer races he has not shone in training, though much fancied for hig Autumn handicaps. The horse hroke down hopelessly to-day'and lience was withdrawn. Nightmarch also has been scratched for handicaps, presumably being reserved for weight-for-age events at Rosehill, Warwick Farm and Randwick. His failure on Saturday against _ Cave Dwelier suggested little chance in the Doncaster.
