The 500 card tournament and dance in the Hastings Assembly Hall last Nnight; -as a benefit to the f amily of Mr Rangi Otene, Was a pronounced success, both financially and as an enjoyr ahle gathering. There was an .attend-' ance of about 300 people, who whiled away many h'appy hours. The dance •music was provided by ! Walden's .Oxchestra. The , Monte i Carlo dance was won by Miss N. -Wil- , son and her partner,,. the spofc dance "being won by MisssL. "Wilson and Mr . Taylor. . ..The ' card.- games were Very keenly *c.Qiite;sted.
